Valleys of the Perafita and of the Madriu

The valleys of Perafita and Madriu are ones of the most beautiful places of all the small principado of Andorra. A clear evidence of this, is that one of them, the Valley of Madriu, was appointed World-wide Heritage in to the year 2004.

These Valleys, with escarpadas mountains and spectacular forests and landscapes are an example of how the man has known to take advantage of the resources of high zones of montanas. In this itinerary will find some of the farms or embroider more representative of the principado of Andorra as they are the But Ramio or Entremesaigües.

This natural space occupies 9% of all the Andorran territory, a total surface of 4247 hectares, and is the only of all the principado that still does not possess roads

The itinerary that present here visits part of these two valleys in a magnifica circular route that begins in Escaldas, crosses the border of Spain to sleep in the Refugi of Perafita and the next day undoing a stretch of the footpath us adentramos in the valley of the river Madriu to return to our starting point
