Prats Of the Cadí

Prats del Cadí
Prats Of the Cadí

The Natural Park of mountain of the Cadí-Moixeró created in July of 1983 fruit of the need to protect the area of the saw of the Cadí. It comprises a surface of 41.342 hectares, being one of the most extensive parks of Catalonia together with the recently created Natural Park of’l Alt Pirineu. It is formed by three regions: the Alt Urgell, the Berguedà and the Cerdanya.

The two big saws of the Cadí-Moixeró, joined by the port of Tancalaporta, form an impressive mountainous barrier in the Prepirineo that goes of poniente to raise in an extension of some 30 km, in the divisional line of the waters of the rivers Segre (Cerdanya and Alt Urgell) and Llobregat (Berguedà).

This route has like final destination the Prat of the Cadí. This place is one of the rincones more wonderful of the saw and of the Catalan mountains. From the simple village of Estana until the pleasant way that rises by the forest and the extensive meadow, that lengthens like a rincón of peace under the impressive walls and the channels of the slope north of the Cadí, do of this itinerary an exceptional excursion.
