Lake of Siscaró

Lago de Siscaró
Lake of Siscaró

Andorra characterises by his summits of materials paleozoicos, that elevate above the 2.600 meters above sea level and culminate to 2.942 meters above sea level hover of the Pla of’l Estany in the Hispanic border-French. The human activity centres in the transversal valley noreste-southwest, that from the port of Envalira, with 2.407 meters above sea level, descends until the 840 meters above sea level, when the river Valira goes in in Spain.

The forests occupy 2/5 of the territory, distributed in three altitudinal flats; until the 1.200 m, encinas and oaks, until the 1.600-1.700 m predominates the wild pine and until the 2.200-2.300 m abounds the black pine, substituted in the summits by the alpine meadows. In the parish of The Massana is the forest of Arinsal, one of the forest masses more important of Andorra. His typical flower the grandalla.

The “Estanys of the Siscaró” owe his name to the “Siscall”, that is a plant that asemeja to the junco and that grows in waters of these lakes and surroundings, giving him a touch of exotismo to the landscape.

The access to the point of start realises by the road CG2 between the Tarter i Soldeu, to the Bridge of Baladosa, following the narrow road that adentra in the Valley d'Incles, until the area of parking.
