Castle of Naya

The saw of Guara is situated between the Valley of the Ebro and the Pyrenees. It is the zone prepirinaica of the province of Huesca, the northest of the three Aragonese provinces. This earth of transition, designated the Somontano, treats of a zone of Mediterranean climate dominated by the vineyard, the olivo, the almendro and the carrascas, and spectacular ravines excavated in the calcareous rock by the rivers Flumen, Guatizalema, Calcón, Alcanadre, Isuela, Mascún and Vero.

The Natural Park of the Saw and cannons of Guara extends north of the local capital, Barbastro. It was declared Natural Park in 1990 and has 47.450 hectares, without explaining the peripheral zone.

The height of altitude oscillates between the 430 metres and the 2.077 of the Beak Guara, the highest of the park.

The vegetation of the zone south is drier and abundant of encinares. In the zone north with more leafy species as you have them. Regarding the fauna, stands out the vulture leonado, the quebrantahuesos and the real eagle.
