The Camí dels Enginyers is a variant of the GR-11 and was born by a project of an electrical head office that had that close the Valley of Coma of Cow with a prey, constituting an artificial lake.

Fortunately this prey never carried out but in contrapartida left us ones of the most beautiful footpaths of the zone that joins the Valley of Nuria with the Refugi of Coma of Cow.

The Camí dels Enginyers can realise in some three hours with a desnivel positive of 330 m. And a desnivel negative of 270 m.

The next day it descends by the River Freser, that will carry us until the population of Queralbs, starting point of our route.

The Vall of Núria, a wonderful valley hid between high mountains, inaccessible for the cars, to the that only goes up the only train zip of all the State and where can enjoy of the activities related with the nature and the high mountain.

The valley of Nuria, situated in the municipal term of Queralbs (in the province of Girona), to a height of 2.000 metres of altitude, is accessible by means of a zip (Zip of Nuria, FGC) or following any of the ways of mountain that arrive to Nuria. In the valley finds situated the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Nuria where drafted the first statute of autonomy of Catalonia in 1931.

1. Camí dels Enginyers

From Nuria, takes the track that goes up to the Hostel of the Pic of l'Àliga and shortly before arriving find to the right the detour of the Cami dels Enginyers. This footpath goes to a height of 2.000 metres of altitude on the Gorgues of river Freser that can observe very underneath during all the route. During all the route also can observe the beak of the Balandrau. Also divisaremos the villages of Queralbs and Ribes of Freser situated to the south.

The way in all his route does not offer lost, is perfectly marked as it is part of a variant of the footpath GR-11.

The Cami dels Enginyers does not offer difficulty any with good time, but can result very dangerous with snow, ice or fog. The only step a bit complicated finds in the Clot of the Malinfern, in which they have installed some pasamanos in the rock that allow it manage without any danger although it is forced to go with precaución.

2. River Freser

From the shelter of Coma of Cow, rises a small slope, to start with despues the desceso of the river Freser.

Finding numerous marmitas and waterfalls as well as a constant variation of the satisfied vegetation go perdiento height. The landscape between the slopes northwest of the Balandrau and sureste of the Torreneules is fantastic.

The way finalises in an electrical head office. We will follow the track that ends in the road, and ascendermos by this until the population of Queralbs.
