The satellite of observation of the Earth Deimos-1 has attracted the volcanic stain generated by the underwater eruption in the island of The Iron during the last days. As it can observe in the image, taken on 23 October, the big stain projects to the south, from the island to the Atlantic ocean, and achieving already an upper surface to the one of The iron.
The Deimos-1, launched to the space in June of 2009, is the first European satellite of observation of the Earth of capital entirely private. Developed by Elecnor Deimos, is conceived to obtain images of high resolution of the surface of the planet that use in very diverse applications, like agricultrua, planning of the territory, environmental surveillance, determinate activities of defence, fight against natural disasters or control of resources hídricos.
With his cameras, the satellite attracts images with detail of 22 metres and covers a wide scanning, der 640 kilometres. The artifact, with a mass of some one hundred kilograms, is in orbit to 686 kilometres on the terrestrial surface.
