Puigmal From Nuria

From in front of the church of Nuria sets off for the West, goes through the bridge with wooden rails on the river of Finestrelles and turn to the right following the river water up, to the north. The way goes up to a forest and crosses a channel of drain of the electrical head office. Further up it leaves manually left a footpath that traces back to the south and goes in in the forest of Saint Gil, of black pine, to the left of the valley of Finestrelles. It crosses a channel covered of the electrical head office that seems a way. It follows to the northwest.

When going out of the forest crosses a hondonada and a torrent to trace back with strength until the plane of the Ortigar, also called small Collet Verd (2.210 m). It is a collado wide and herboso from where see the mountains of the beak of the Segre, Finestrelles, Fontnegra and the peak of the Comma of the Clot. It is necessary to go out in a westerly direction by the way that flanquea to the bottom of the torrent of L'Embut (2.220 m), manually right.

We cross it and the distance goes up by the opposite slope doing short lazadas. A detour joins by the right of the way: it is necessary to follow flanqueando the torrent up the northwest until crossing again the torrent of L'Embut.

It follows tracing back the torrent by his right bank between meadows and thickets of rododendro. Further they find some beautiful waterfalls and, in the another slope, contemplates the Pla dels Eugassers and the source Bordonera.

It crosses this torrent by third time and traces back to the west by a little marked way in the middle of an increasingly wide meadow and soft. Further up, in the height 2.550 m, the route approaches to some humedales where, on a lomo covered of stones, there is a raingauge.

It continues by the bottom of the hondonada of L'Embut in a westerly direction leaving the raingauge to the left. The way goes up the Coll d'Err looking for to the maximum the meadows every time less frequent.

We achieve the Coll d'Err (2.770 m) , that separates the basins of the Ter and of the Segre. It sees the high part of the valley of Err and his station of alpine ski (Puigmal 2000). Only it subtracts to trace back the easy crest north until the peak.

Once in the peak enjoys of a magnificent panoramic sight that covers different Catalan regions.

The return can do by the same way of the crest north (first option, 4 h 25 min) or doing a small turn going down by the crest this until the Coll of L'Embut (2.700 m), that separates the comma of L'Embut of the comma of Fontalba. Once in this neck, the fastest option (4h 20min), even more than by the neck of Err, is to go down to the north by the way that goes to look for the bottom semiplano of the comma of L'Embut, by where has gone up .

A third and fourth option would be from the Coll of L'Embut going to the beak of the Ortigar (2.737 m), to the east, that from of here is a hump near. Once in this beak, can go down by the aerial and spectacular ceiling of the Ortigar northeast (third option, 4 h 40 min) or by the calm comma of Gombrèn, to the east (fourth option). This last increases the time almost in 1 h (5 h 20 min), and combines with part of the route of Nuria to the Collada of Fontalba.

The fifth and last option, some 2 h longer (6 h 20 min), is from the coll of L'Embut, go down all the splendid and long comma of Fontalba until the ancient way of Núria from Fontalba, that only will be necessary to follow until Nuria in contrary direction to which explains in the route Of Nuria to the collada of Fontalba.
