The Puigmal (2.911 m), called also Puigmal d’Err in Alta Cerdaña, is the highest mountain of the Oriental Pyrenees and of the province of Girona, situated in the border of Spain with France.
Located between the municipal terms of Queralbs (Ripollés, Girona) and Err (Alta Cerdaña, Oriental Pyrenees) is the highest of the summits that configure the designated Big Pot that surrounds the valley of Núria. It is a wide peak and rounded; his ascensión is simple if the climatic conditions are not very adverse. In his summit finds a cross of iron fraguado and a plate with verses of Cinto Verdaguer.
This ascensión is a circular itinerary that begins in Fontalba, to 2.070 m. Of altitude. The ascensión realise it by a slope and the descent by another, and later plan by a way that carries us until the point of exit.

You are wrong, the highest summit of the Province of Girona is the Puigpedrós with 2.914 metres
The Puigmal d’Err is a distinct French summit of the one of the Puigmal properly said. His altitude is inferior and situates in the extreme north of the French station of ski.
