The beak, the seventh in altitude of the Alpes with a height of 4.061 m, is near of the Mont Blanc in the near border with France. It finds inside the National Park of the Big Paradise. The Big Paradiso is the only mountain whose summit surpasses the 4.000 metres that finds entirely inside the Italian territory.

The highest peak was achieved by first time on 4 September 1860 by J. J. Cowell, W. Dundas, J. Payot And J.Tairraz . Today it is considered like an easy promotion, except regarding the last 60 metres until the peak.

The ascensió begins from the shelter from the shelter Vittorio Emanuele Secondo that receives his name of the king Víctor Manuel II of Italy, the one who created the real reservation of Big Paradiso in 1856, germ of what would be the current national park.
