The Aneto with an altitude of 3.404 metres on the level of the sea is the highest beak of all the Pyrenean mountain range. Situated in the Valley of Benasque, province of Huesca, forms part of the macizo of the Maladeta inside the Natural Park Posets-Maladeta.

In the Aneto finds the main glacier of the Pyrenees, in the expensive north and from the 2.810 metres on the level of the sea, with but of 100 hectares of surface.

The ascensión to the Aneto is of the hardest of all the Pyrenees, although the majority of the different routes to go up the Aneto do not present technical difficulty any, it is necessary to take into account that it treats of a very demanding beak by the desnivel to surpass, but of 3.000 metres of desnivel accumulated, and by the presence of the glacier, that supposes but of an hour of trek on the biggest glacier the Pyrenees, what comports risks.

To realise this ascensión it is necessary to have the account that the approximate time of route can be of more than 10 hours of effective trek, without explaining rests or the tails that produce in the Step of Muhammed, etc. By this reason is advisable to go out very early in the morning.

Also it is necessary to take into account that in any period of the year will need cranpones and piolet or sticks of mountain to happen the glacier.
